Meet The Author
Who are you?
My name is John-Paul Warner, I'm 37 and married. We have one young child.
I’m a freelance copywriter and internal and external communications
consultant with a background in journalism, PR, marketing and motor sport
sponsorship, so you can see why I’d rather be a writer.
Where do you live?
I live in All Cannings, Wiltshire, at the heart of the Pewsey Vale (“Crop
Circle Central”), one of the most beautiful and magical places on
Earth.
Why do you write?
I always enjoyed writing at school and went on to study French and Russian
literature at Exeter and London. I then went to Moscow and became Russia’s
first fully-accredited foreign motoring journalist. I write because I
can’t draw, paint, sculpt or, according to my son, sing.
Why did you write An Angel Came Down?
I moved down to Wiltshire from Oxford in June 2005 to recover from an
operation, my third in two years. Lying in bed for months on end, face
down (don’t ask!) I began to write children’s poetry for my
son. Often with only a laptop for company, I began to try to get to know
my new surroundings by looking at the internet, and that’s when
I started to form the theory that is the central plank of An Angel
Came Down.
